Kate Benzin has been living in Indonesia for more than 40 years. When she took a 3-month job there, her plan was to get the itch to live overseas out of her system. But overseas living turned into the lifestyle that suited her best, so she made Indonesia her adopted home.

After teaching English in local language schools in Jakarta and Yogyakarta for 15 years, Kate decided to add more adventure to her life and became an international tour director. Indonesia was the perfect home base because her housekeeper could take care of her doggies during the four or five months each year that Kate was leading tours in Europe, Russia, China, and Peru.

During her time in Indonesia, Kate has navigated the challenges and joys of expat life and loves sharing her experience with everyone who wants to make the move into expat life.
