Deborah in Cambodia

Deborah Saunders
Deborah JOY Saunders Born in 1957 which means I’ve had a glorious 68 years on the planet. In Melbourne, Australia, I studied and worked in the Food Service industry. I was Chef for the Victorian Law Institute, followed on as Chef to the Executives of ConZinc Rio Tinto Mining , and after having my first gorgeous daughter I established my own catering Company called Culinary Wizardry and I took the role of The Culinary Wizard. I was a good all- rounder. I had people skills, Culinary expertise and a ridiculous sense of humour. After many years of servicing other people and experiencing total burn out, the opportunity for life in the tropics presented itself and it seemed like a Jungle change was the answer.
A perfect property presented itself to my husband and I and we established and successfully ran The RiverGarden in Siem Reap, Cambodia . After 10 years and a broken marriage, I naively, but successfully, bought and renovated a property 10 minutes from the Town. I’ve invested heavily in Banks here, bought and sold property, built and sold a Tiny House on Wheels, become the first female tuk tuk owner/driver in Siem Reap, navigated my way through the legal system and found absolute joy in embracing life here for 18 years. I’ve renovated, established a petstay called Catnaps and a Dogs Breakfast Countryside Petstay and hope to live happily ever after in Cambodia with the delightful Khmers and my doggos.
